Well since you told me your middle name I suppose I could tell you mine. YOu should feel VERY priviledged because I hate it and generally keep it a closely guarded secret. It is Ellen. Isn't that the ugliest middle name you ever heard? (hey I hope you don't know anybody called that!) Well, I think it is dispicable. It was my great grandmother and grandmother's name so my old woman (I mean my mother) named me that too. I suppose I should be grateful that she didn't make that my first name. My first name, well I have two different opinions on that, when people call me it out loud I quite like it but I hate the way it looks on paper. You can call me Des if you want to. You know how you said Des is an anagram of DSE so it's good I joined, well here DSE also stands for Department of SEcondary Education and they are the people taht give out the marks at the end of the year, so I hope that is a good sign too. I was just about to explain about Des when I went on about that. My friend, Natalina, who "invented" the nickname Des thinks she has exclusive rights to the name, but I quite like to be called that, so I kinda just ignore her on that one.. ME and her have a really close friendship and we go around calling each other the most dispicable insulting names, but we don't mean anything by it. A typical greeting might be, "Hi slut." "Yo scrag". People are often shocked that we speak to each other that way before we explain that's just the way we are. ( I know that they aren't particularly dispicable words but I just keep saying that word lately) My best friend, Elizabeth, lives in America (new York) now but we're still great friends thanks to the speed of email and we write to each other a few times a week. She calls me Jersey. The origin of the nickname is so totally obscure and vague with a lot of imagination needed to make the connections that I won't even bother to try to explain it to you. I like that so you could call me that but it's kind of more the thing to use in letters, not in general convo. SO you can take your pick. Just don't you dare to call me by my middle name or I'll never speak to you again. (And I won't let Cad or Kala speak to Cal or Hobbes either ;) )
So, after I have just gone on for donkeys years about names, I think that you must be feeling rather deprived because you don't really have a nickname. I'll think of one ofr you okay. I have quite a reputation for giving people nicknames. I'll have to tell you about some of them one time, but it would take too long to do now.
Well, as far as school holidays go, this is the deal. Two weeks at easter, in july, and in september and then at christmas we get a long holiday. Primary school and the first 3 high school years get 6 weeks.. a bit before to christmas till the end of January. Fourth year of high school and you knock off two weeks before them. Fifth year, what I just did, finished three weeks before most people and when you're in Year 12 you are basically finished with normal school by September. THe last term you spend finishing off work requirements and studying for exams (which they give you time off for!) then you have your exams, get pissed as a parrot to celebrate finishing school and stress your balls out for a month or so till you get your results. Pretty simple really.
Well, I have to admit I wouldn't have the faintest idea what the prodigy sing but I have heard of them and I know a few people into them. Funny you said you like them because then I go off to read the newspaper and there is this big article on the middle two pages about them and how they have some scandalous lyrics in a song or something. I didn't read the whole thing.
Hey, I'll write to your friend if he wants. Or I could ask my friend Elizabeth if she wants to write to him. You can ask him. But I'll write to him anyway.

OH oh oh oh oh. I just remembered and I've been meaning to ask you for donkeys years.. on that popups file you sent me, one of the things, finger, you can choose to either put in any address or do one for something like jaguar bla bla bla. Whose address is that? I wonder every time I see it there.
I'm going to go to bed now and try to read some more of The Greatly Boring Gatsby ( I have to read it for school)
